Jamshedpur: The WE Foundation’s Tree Tributes project in Jamshedpur is all about making the city greener and healthier by planting 1,000 saplings across different areas, including Kadma, Mango, Gamaharia, and Adityapur. But it’s more than just planting trees—it’s about taking action to create a cleaner, more sustainable environment for everyone.
Did you know that a single tree can absorb up to 22 kilos of CO₂ each year and produce enough oxygen for two people? Imagine the difference we could make if we all worked together to plant more trees. That’s the goal behind Tree Tributes—to show that small actions, like planting a tree, can add up to big changes for the environment.
Through this project, we involved local schools, communities, and volunteers, who came together with enthusiasm to plant a variety of trees, including Neem, Gulmohar, Amla, Mango, and Saal. The energy and excitement were clear as everyone worked together, from digging the soil to watering the saplings. For many students, this was their first time planting trees, and their eagerness to make a difference was inspiring.
Tree Tributes isn’t just about planting trees; it’s about teaching the importance of caring for the environment. The project helped raise awareness among students and local communities about how trees improve air quality, provide shade, and support wildlife. It also reminded everyone that each of us plays a role in protecting the planet.
The trees we planted today will help improve the environment for years to come. They will clean the air, provide shelter, and offer a home for birds and insects. And the impact goes beyond the trees themselves. The project has sparked important conversations about sustainability and environmental care, inspiring people to keep making a difference.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us in this effort. Together, we are helping make Jamshedpur a cleaner, greener, and healthier place. Let’s keep nurturing these saplings and continue working toward a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
