Punarnava Cancer Screening Project – A Unified Mission

The Punarnava Cancer Screening Project is more than a healthcare initiative; it’s a transformative movement dedicated to saving lives and restoring health in Kolkata and Haldia.

In Kolkata, we screened over 2,500 individuals through home-to-home outreach, identifying high-risk cases and providing advanced care at our Health & Nutrition Centre. Women received not just medical interventions but also counseling and medications to support their recovery and prevent future complications.

In Haldia, mobile health camps screened over 400 women, offering them their first opportunity to detect potential health risks. By bringing advanced cancer screening to rural communities, Punarnava has made healthcare accessible and actionable for those who need it most.

Our mission is ambitious yet clear: to screen 5,000+ women from underprivileged areas, ensuring they have the knowledge, resources, and support to lead healthier lives. The Punarnava Cancer Screening Project stands as a promise to serve the underserved, bringing hope, health, and empowerment to every woman we touch. Together, we are creating a future where every woman has the chance to thrive.

Punarnava Cancer Screening Project – Empowering Women in Haldia

In the rural landscapes of Haldia, where healthcare access is scarce and cancer awareness is limited, the Punarnava Cancer Screening Project is a beacon of hope. Through mobile health camps held in areas like Dhenkua and Krishnanagar, the project has reached over 400 women, bringing essential screening and care directly to their doorsteps.

Each camp began with preliminary screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, hemoglobin, height, and weight, ensuring a holistic health assessment. Women identified as high-risk were then consulted by doctors and referred for advanced tests like Pap smears, CA-125, and TSH. These screenings provided a critical opportunity to detect early signs of cervical, breast, and ovarian cancer, potentially saving lives.

The impact of these camps is profound. Women who had never received a health check-up are now empowered with knowledge about their health. They’ve learned the importance of early detection and are equipped with resources to access further treatment if needed. This initiative has not only brought care to women in remote areas but has also fostered a sense of community, as families rally together to support their loved ones in pursuing better health.
