Impact Story
In the remote, hillside villages of Mizoram, generations of women have lived in the shadows of tradition and isolation. Limited access to opportunities, deep-rooted taboos, and geographic barriers have long kept women from stepping into roles of leadership and influence. Project Punarnava: Mizoram, led by The WE Foundation, is changing that narrative—not just by addressing health gaps, but by empowering women to reclaim their agency and reshape their communities.
From Silence to Strength
Project Punarnava began with a vision: to turn women into the architects of their own futures. Over 2,500 women from tribal communities were invited to participate in digital health assessments and community camps, not only as recipients of care but as leaders and change-makers. Through these interactions, women learned to speak up, share their stories, and support one another in overcoming long-standing social barriers.
